On October 2nd the LBR ForeverLawn #24 sealed the Championship Win in the Northwest Modifieds. It was the team's first time running at Tri-City Raceway and TCR is notorious for being a driver's track. It's tough on tires and you have to be GOOD to stay in the top positions. Adding to that, today's race was a little more unusual: The Northwest Modifieds and Rockstar Energy B-Mods raced together. There was probably plenty of speculation how that would go, but for sure it is something that folks are excited to see happen again.
We talked to Lucas before the race. He said, "With the restrictor plates on the Northwest Mods, having the B-Mods go to the slicks, you know it's pretty even. The top three, we're really close and there's a B-Mod in there with us so I think it's going to be a good night with really close racing."
When asked about the track specifically, Lucas said, "You're on edge all the time, I like it!"

Lucas got the pole and the race was on. As usual, Jeff and Lucas traded some tight and clean racing.
It was a pretty clean race overall, and everyone went home in one piece. Lucas settled into a solid pace but pretty soon Chad Holaday passed for 1st. Lucas found a little speed and made a push within five to go, but just couldn't get there.
After the race Lucas commented, "It was a great learning experience for everyone going to a very unique track. I learned a lot as a driver, we made solid progress all weekend just couldn’t get the setup right. Qualified 3rd out of a great field of cars and brought home 2nd place in the main. Had a yellow with 5 to go and thought I could maybe get it done, just didn’t have enough there and made a small mistake over driving a corner with 2 laps to go. Go back to the bumper of the lead car on the last corner, just didn’t have enough. This one stung a bit, you win some and you lose some. We will do homework this off season and be back twice as strong in 2023. Congrats Chad Holaday on the win, great run👍🏼🏁"
